What's your business, and who are your customers?
Inlighted Method is an education company dedicated to teaching the world how to communicate with their bodies through muscle testing. My customers are other natural health practitioners who would like to incorporate my technique of muscle testing into their existing wellness practice. This technique called the Inlighted Method, helps illuminate what the clients’ bodies are trying to communicate with them through physical symptoms. Releasing in February 2023, Inlighted Emotion, the first of three courses outlining the technique, will highlight how to identify and release emotional energy stored in the body as physical symptoms.
Tell us about yourself
I am an energetic chiropractor. I’ve been working with patients for eight years in my private practice, Renew Health And Wellness, in Denver, CO. Using my technique, the Inlighted Method; I help my patients with structural, nutritional, and emotional needs that I identify using muscle testing. I’m so passionate about teaching this material because it is incredible how connected our bodies are and how simple it can be to access information from the body using muscle testing. I truly believe that muscle testing is the wave of future health care, and I am so proud to be teaching and sharing my information about how to perform it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment so far in business has been growing a thriving private practice. What I do is so unique, and it has taken some time to build my reputation in the Denver community. So often, people think of chiropractic work as just getting popped in five minutes. What I do is so much different than that. Utilizing the Inlighted Method, I have helped thousands of people identify why their pain is happening, not just covering up the symptoms. My next great adventure, starting to teach the Inlighted Method, has been my second great accomplishment in my career. I’m so passionate about this information being used by all sorts of different types of healthcare practitioners. I want muscle testing in the future to be used by everyone.
What's one of the hardest things about being a business owner?
Perseverance. I know it sounds a little cheesy, but the most critical thing to being a business owner is picking yourself back up after failure because there will be many. The attitude of learning from your failures rather than letting them defeat you is the number one quality needed by an entrepreneur.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a business today?
Find a mentor. My mentor, who taught me my technique and how to run my business, was an amazing resource initially, especially when I was terrified. Finding someone who has been through it before for support is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Build community. Whether it is physically in the area where your business is or in the online space, finding your people is so critical. I built most of my practice by cultivating relationships with other natural healthcare providers. Genuinely wanting to give as much as you receive is the best place to start when trying to build community.
Get very comfortable with being uncomfortable. I say this all the time to my patients, but we as human beings only change when we are very uncomfortable. This is why getting used to the sensation of discomfort is very important for a business owner. The moments of discomfort help you learn and help you decide when it is time to pivot. It is very important not to cover up these uncomfortable feelings and to lean into them and see what they can teach you.
